Converting text to path

You can convert an editable text block to a collection of Bezier paths by selecting it, and then clicking Convert Object to Path on the Object menu (or press CTRL+SHIFT+O). The result is a group of closed paths and is no longer editable with the Text tool. You can, however, edit the paths just as you would any other path in Expression Design.

If the text contained more than one character, each glyph's path will be grouped together. You can ungroup the characters from each other by clicking Ungroup on the Arrange menu. Characters that contain holes (also called "counters"), such as the hole in the middle of the letter "D", are converted into compound paths that have multiple subpaths.

Here, the original text block (top) was converted to outlines (below) and then individual paths were edited.
